I farm skulls and sentient roots with my ele. For skulls I like to use spells like liquid flame and fireball because it's pretty easy to ball the gargoyles up. Might wanna bring along something like healing breeze to cut down on the degen. But I go a little farther than most people when I farm skulls. I go well past that huge group at the top of the stairs. Run takes anywhere from 10-12 min and nets around 10-20 skulls per run. Make sure you bring a speed buff or 2. Here's the map:

Jade are u doing the skull farming in hm ? And would u like to post me a build ?
I got an ele as well and i would like to try it out ^^

Nah, when farming for collector drops, there's no real point in doing hm. You want fast and easy. Here's the build I use for skulls, play around with it though. I know it can be faster. I was thinking of going with Air, but that's only because I like Storm Djinn's Haste as my speed boost.
Template Code:(fingers crossed that it'll be working again soon!)

So, what is the fastest way to farm raptors nowadays?
Back the days I used the following build:
Channeling
Magnetic Aura
Armor of Mist
Mantra of Resolve
Mist Form
Sliver Armor
Intensity
Air of Superiority
Just wondering if there are any faster ways to do it as an ele, because efficiency is the most important thing in farming to me.
Thanks in advance!

Wonder why nobody has posted this build yet:
Shadow form
Silver armor
Glyph of concentration
Air of Superiority
Radiation field
ebon battle standard of honor
dark escape
Deaths Charge
16 earth magic, 12 shadow arts, rest energy storage
Select HM, go to the raptor cave, use glyph, use dark escape, lure all the raptors, when glyph runs out, use Shadow form, use silver armor, deaths charge to the boss, use Air/Standard up and spam Radiation field. Spam your shadow form/silver armor on recharge. Make sure to attack at least once between every spell to keep the raptors from scattering. Collect your items and /resign
Everybody have a nice Halloween!

Really, this could EASILY be tested. All we need is to repeat the SoJ/SV test with two builds that kill at different rates (say... a perma silver farming vaetarr's and a keg bomber). That would end this debate right now. Of course, this would be a lot easier with two people who have computers side by side in order to make sure the sync works. Any volunteers, the guy who did the original test quit GW?
|
From my experience the AOE method is much faster in NM but slower in HM where the increased attack rate of the mobs makes sliver armor unbelievably deadly.

I have been having great luck farming termites and drakes in Plains of Jarin just outside Champion's Dawn. (2 drakes and about 10 termites in one spot.) A run takes 2-3 minutes and I get about 50 legs and 7-8 drake flesh per hour, plus the occasional sentient root from Shockwaving the plant group between the portal and the lake. Drake chunks trade 1-1 for transmog tonics, so this rate isn't as bad as it looks. Plus, dye has been dropping like rain for me on this run -- 2 black, 2 white, 2 silver, and an assortment of other colors over 5 hours of farming. Wand followed by Stone Daggers on the termites, since they can't be balled up and nuked, and Shockwave instakills the drakes.
|
We're you doing this in NM? I guess I'll try it out and find out for myself.

Yes, I was farming the drakes and termites in NM, since I was just interested in the collectable drops. I didn't pick up anything but collectables, cash, and dye.

Same here, but if I have room in my inventory I'll pick up blues as well. The reason behind this is simple, I look for 2 "mods". Highly salvagable and the measure for measure one. I can always find someone who's willing to buy materials, and hey, getting 100+ gold for a blue weapon makes me think I'm stickin' it to the man!

Those items should go for as much as other alcoholic/sugary/party items do.
Alcoholic items ~120
Sugary items ~ 150
Party items ~ 180-200

I only see 7 collector items and those exclude termite legs, caromi and some others from previous years. Any idea if they will come later or did they really eliminate those trophies from the Halloween event this year?
